Half-Day Retreat $150 (for 1-10 Participants)
For groups larger than 10, please contact us for pricing.
This guided nature & forest bathing experience is a slow walk through the secluded fields, woods, and water features at Bonne et Belle and concludes with a tea ceremony and a light snack.
This is not a hike. It’s a relaxed amble within a 1/4-1/2 mile area.
The paths will be some blend of pavement, lawn, cow trails and footpaths on mostly even terrain. (Paths and pace are adapted to accommodate the ages and abilities of participants.)
During the walk, your guide will offer a series of invitations, prompts of a sort, for interacting with the natural world through your sense of sight, sound, touch, smell, and sometimes even taste.
These invitations typically last 10-15 minutes each. Following each invitation, the group will gather for the opportunity to share or simply listen to others’ sharings.
Spending time in nature—even for short periods—has been shown in multiple scientific studies worldwide to lower heart rate, reduce stress, reduce inflammation, and boost immunity—just to name a few benefits!
Here’s what Yale scientists have to say about spending time in nature:
“These studies have shown that time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote for stress: It can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood. Attention Deficit Disorder and aggression lessen in natural environments, which also help speed the rate of healing. In a recent study, psychiatric unit researchers found that being in nature reduced feelings of isolation, promoted calm, and lifted mood among patients.”
